Ivy Bridge, this is the 3rd generation quad core processors introduced by Intel Corporation. This new processor is the world’s first chip that is created with Intel’s 22-nanometer (nm) 3-D tri-Gate transistor technology.
The combination of cutting-edge Intel 3-D tri-gate transistor technology and architectural enhancements that make it possible to revamp the 3-D graphics and HD media processing performance in comparison with the previous generation of chips from Intel.
As a result, gamers, media enthusiasts and mainstream users can enjoy quicker and more life-like PC activities. From creating and editing videos and photos, surfing the Web, watching HD movies or playing mainstream games.
The new processors have as much as 20 percent microprocessor performance improvements and new technologies to speed the flow of data to and from the chips.
More versions of the 3rd Generation Intel Core processors will be available in the coming months. These versions are designed to power a new wave of system ranging from Ultrabook devices to servers and intelligent systems in different industries such as retail, healthcare and others.
During the launch, Intel highlighted the Ultrabook’s instant on ability- that is its instant transition from sleep mode to being active in less than 7 seconds. And even when it’s hibernating, it keeps updating your emails and social networks, thus conserving battery life.
Leighton Philipps, Intel Asia Pacific’s Director for Product Management Pricing, stressed that the next wave of Ultrabook systems will also have enhanced security features, including the Intel Anti-Theft Technology that can let you disable the system and make your device as good as a brick if it is lost or stolen. Aside from this, they will have Intel Identity Protection technology built in to keep people’s identity safe and ensure that their favorite websites and social networks know it’s really them when logging in.
More than 35 new sleek, thin, and light, Ultrabook systems are available now or will be for purchase within 30 days, with more than 110 designs expected in the next year. Among the Ultrabook brands available are Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, LG, Samsung, and Toshiba.
